Musings
Along with most of you, I get a lot of spam mail each day. I refuse to get an
inferiority complex because of a half dozen or a dozen e-mails each day telling
me how much I need Viagra. I think at my age that I do pretty well without it.
I use a program called Mailwasher to bounce back this junk. Many of them are
coming from an invalid e-mail address, and most of it is from outside the United
States. China seems to be a favorite haven for the spammers.
The idea behind spamming is that if you send out enough mail, you will get
sufficient purchases to make it worthwhile. Once the database is set up, it
takes no time to send out millions of these missives. It can even be automated
to send them out on a recurring basis without any additional time or effort.
They are sent anonymously. It is doubtful that you would do business with them
once, let alone on a repeat basis.
So what does spam have to do with this musings section? How much do we spam in
our daily lives? Many of our activities have been put on automatic pilot. We
repeat the niceties of greetings, "How are you?", "I am fine, thank you." A
certain amount of this type greeting works as an ice breaker, and can have
benefit. But have you ever listened to a talk radio show? Almost every caller
will feel obligated to ask the host, "How are you." after the first several you
almost want to scream that if they were listening they would already have heard
from the host repeatedly that he or she is fine. Is this not a form of spam? In
how many other areas do we react so mindlessly?

Happenings and Events
On Saturday, August 16,2003, I was privileged to be a guest on the radio show
"Colors of Love." This show is syndicated on several New England stations, and
can be picked up on the internet. Most of you received a solo mailing on this
appearance.
I appreciate those who responded to the mailing. Thanks to those who listened
and called the show. Some of you tried and could not pick up the station because
you needed a different player installed. Many did not get the notice in time.
And others had activities, such as a child's birthday party that, of course,
took precedence. Thank you all for your loyal support.
Jade and Chris were great hosts. They have the ability to make the guest shine.
They made it so easy that the time went by way too fast.

A Bit of Philosophy
Conversion in a religious sense is defined as "a spiritual and moral change,
with conviction, from what is false or worldly to that which is true or godly."
it is the result of devotion to the highest spiritual ideal one has. Until this
time Saul had not been completely loyal to his belief that Jesus was not the
messiah, yet due to the earnestness with which he did what he considered right,
he earned a greater expanding in consciousness. This the vision gave him. When we
are faithful to our spiritual ideas, regardless of how limited they may be, the
time will come when further light is revealed. For such an intense nature as
Saul's, with his background of religious training, illumination came as a
blinding flash.

Microsoft Corporation Under the Numerology Microscope
Last Week we did a brief review of Bill Gates' numbers. He is not the sole
person involved in Microsoft, but is one of the prime leaders. Next week we will
show how Bill Gates fits with Microsoft.
The official name is Microsoft Corporation. The date of incorporation was June
25, 1981. The articles of incorporation were modified in 2003. For the purpose
of this review, we will not consider the nuances of the modified date.
The core numbers for the corporation are:
Life Path 14/5
Expression 1
Soul Urge 4
Birth Day 7
Personality 6
Integrative Vision 5
With a 5 integrative vision number Microsoft is going to be on the cutting edge
of new technology. It has the ability to move quickly on a new idea and is
willing to abandon any project that is not working. But in spite of this desire
to keep current, change may not always be easy to accept. Major changes can
cause anguish within the structure.
This willingness to change can get out of hand, The 14/5 life path has karmic
implications. It shows a company that is willing to go outside the rules just to
see what it can get by with. But with a 4 soul urge it will have a solid plan to
recover is something goes wrong.
The company is not as money oriented as their accusers would assert. Money is
only a motivator to the extent that it measures achievement. There is a money
flow challenge with Microsoft. At times the corporation will refuse to spend
money when it should for its progress, then will spend, perhaps even lavishly,
in areas where they should have been frugal. With five 9s in the intensification
table, the corporation is more philanthropic than the core numbers would
indicate.
It has an uncanny ability to know what will work and what to discard. The
motivation is to create whole systems that will work together to control the
market. With a 1 expression, this corporation is going to act independently
without too much regard for competition. It will create its own products from
its own ideas, without copying from anyone else. When they do take over someone
else's idea, either through purchase or through appropriation, it will modify
the idea to fit the Microsoft plan.
The Microsoft success story results from this original thinking. With a 7 birth
day, the corporation has built a shield that makes it appear to be aloof and
uncaring. But with the balance of the 6 personality we know that the corporation
may feel vulnerable. This aloofness is a protective device. With six 6s in the
intensification table, there is genuine concern for the users of the products,
but with that intensification, Microsoft will likely want to dictate what is
best.
There will be people in the corporation who love to work on technical
challenges. These people see the situation differently from most people and are
able to come up with unexpected solutions.
Microsoft is in a 9 personal year. This is a time to finish up pending projects
and to discard outdated material. It will finish off this year with a strong
philanthropic push. It will be able to put the legal problems behind it as it
moves forward into the coming cycle. The cycle which begins next year will bring
a rebirth to Microsoft. The new direction is already in the planning stage ready
for execution at the appropriate time.
How big a part will Bill Gates play in this next cycle? Next week we will
compare the numbers to see if we can predict the answer.
