Musings
It seems to me that most people fall into three categories in regard to
technology. the first are those cutting edge people who are eager to explore any
new idea that comes on the horizon. they want the latest gadget and are
determined to know all the inner workings of it. The second group will wait
until the technology is being put to practical application before they check it
out. These people become knowledgeable of the workings of this technology to the
extent necessary to use it freely. The third group merely reacts to the presence
of technology. If it is user friendly and provides them with comfort or
convenience they will invest in it. These users are passive and will likely have
little or no knowledge of how it works. They are at the mercy of others if there
is a glitch. I suppose there could be a fourth category who disdain technology
completely, such as certain Amish sects, but their numbers are probably
insignificant to society as a whole.
Most of us fall into either the second or third category. The passive users are
at a disadvantage in a technological society. Their inability to get ahead of
the popular uses keeps them in a box. This group includes the couch potatoes who
may or may not even know how to program the VCR. The second group are the doers.
For them technology is a tool in the accomplishment of their goals.
Each of these types of respondents has their own rewards and drawbacks. You
choose the group with which you are comfortable. The saddest situation are those
who say that they have never tried a new technology and never will. They are
stymied when society moves beyond them. Age is not always the determining factor
in acceptance of the new ideas. A young person who stops exploring is older than
an octogenarian who can be excited by something new. I hope that I do not grow
old in my thinking.

Happenings and Events
The Message Boards for each personal year have been a bigger challenge than
anticipated. I had them set up, but they did not work. Next step is to redo the
password set-up since I have now discovered the error. Some of the Boards are
now completed. The remainder should be finished by Tuesday. Look for your
password and ID in the numeroscope for Wednesday, October 22, 2003.
Upon thinking through the entire procedure, I have determined that the only
feasible way to be sure that each person gets into the right message board is to
distribute the user ID and passwords through the Daily Numeroscopes. I hope that
it does not cause anyone a major inconvenience. For the loyal readers of this
newsletter who want access, but do not wish to subscribe you will need to send
me an e-mail requesting the ID and password. Please include your name and
birthday to be assured that you are receiving access to the correct Board.

that we are continually making changes. Your feedback is always appreciated. You
can now view the site in your choice of 8 different languages. Just go to the
flags at the bottom of each page to make your choice. To go from one language to
another, you must always first return to the English version. I have checked out
the German version for accuracy and found the translation to be acceptable.
Since I don't know the other languages, I guess that I just have to trust the
translators. If you can review any of the other translations, Please let me know
how true it is to the original.

A Bit of Philosophy
You see, you cannot disembark from the journey. You embarked before you were
born. Your birth is simply a sign that the journey has begun.
So the question is not: Why start off on such a path? You have already started
off. You did so with the first beat of your heart. The question is: Do I wish to
to walk the path consciously, or unconsciously? With awareness or lack of
awareness? As the cause of my experience, or at the effect of it?

Is This for Real?
This month we have been providing readings at The Verizon Music Center. During
October, which concludes with Hallowe'en, many people become fascinated with the
metaphysical. As a result, we often read for people who have not previously
obtained such a reading. Many of them come to the table with the expectation of
a fluff reading for fun. The skeptics can become shaken in their beliefs when
they receive honest and valid answers to their quandaries or confirmation in
questioned areas of their lives. Those of you who have been reading my articles
for a while know that I love to read for skeptics.
The title of this article was a question asked by a young person who sat at my
table for a reading. These personal readings validate the value of numerology to
the seekers. By seeing the accuracy for their lives, they can then be more
comfortable in relying upon the numbers for their business endeavors. Many
people are not aware of numerology or the other metaphysical tools that are
available. Some have been taught that somehow it is the work of the devil to
explore these areas. This conditioning goes back many millennia when such
knowledge was restricted to the kings and priest as a means to control the
populace.
Some numerologists, such as Matthew Goodwin when he was alive, will not do a
reading without a full chart in front of them and will require at minimum an
hour to explain it. Their position is that reading from partial information can
skew the reading or misplace the emphasis. I agree that for the greatest degree
of accuracy a full evaluation is necessary, but a quicker reading from a partial
chart can provide useful information. As an example, the Daily Numeroscopes are
based only upon your birth date. They do not consider your interior numbers. For
that reason They give you a limited view. To consider your full chart for each
day would only allow me to provide that service to one or two of you at a time.
The accuracy would be uncanny, but that approach would exclude most of you
because of the time and the cost.
In spite of the limitations, it is my feeling that this limited snapshot of your
day provides helpful guidance. Because of circumstances in your life, you may
not be able to relate to the surrounding energies. On a day that encourages you
to relax, you may be meeting an important deadline that forces you to work long
and hard to complete the project. You may then say that the Daily Numeroscope
was in error, but you will find that to take this alternate course was a
struggle all day. You were out of the flow of the energies. Sometimes you just
have to make the decision to do what is necessary in spite of your natural
inclination.
When you are applying numerology to your business decisions, it is desirable to
look at the full panoply of the energies that can influence that decision. I
would not feel comfortable with just a quick glance at your numbers when you are
setting up the business. The decision of the name and the start date will affect
that business for as long as it exists. A cursory treatment would be a
disservice. You want the accuracy that can only be obtained from a thorough
understanding of the numbers that are being considered. In this case the
evaluation of a partial chart would not be beneficial.
Many successful businesses have been established without the overt help of a
numerologist. The founders possibly were intuitive enough to sense what was
desirable. Some, no doubt, were just lucky. When we read statistics on the
number of business that fail in the first year and the few that survive more
than five years, it is evident that intuition and luck aren't always enough. In
starting a business there are so many costs that hit you before you begin to
bring in the profits. This money spent is wasted if the business folds. Get
started off right by using all the tools at your diposal.
The quick readings are for the purpose of helping people to become familiar with
the benefits of numerology and need to be considered as limited. When the matter
involves your livelihood or a full plan for your life, you need the
uncanny accuracy of a full chart.
