Business Integration

Your business life cannot be separated from your personal life.
Even when you are in a social situation, the conversation at
some point will get around to your business. This statement is
not a criticism, it is just the way that we identify ourselves.
When someone asks you to define yourself, the chances are very
good that you will do so by the work that you do. I am a lawyer,
I am a doctor, I am a numerologist, I am a laborer. Bound up in
these statements is a package of traits that surround each of
these activities. We expect certain characteristics from people
who work in certain fields. In considering our own choice of
work we assume these traits, either consciously or
unconsciously.

If you make a major career change, friends and close associates
will begin to notice changes taking place within you and in your
actions. Your world view is colored by your chosen work.

Because your work life is so integral a part of who you are, it
is important to have a clear sense of appropriateness in your
career choices. By Appropriateness, I am looking at the numbers
in your chart. Do your numbers support the traits and
characteristics that the chosen field requires? When you choose
a field you will spend more of your time with people who are
also doing the same type of work. Does this field attract the
type of people with whom you are comfortable?

If your numbers do not support the work, you will burn out
quickly. That is the danger in basing your career choice upon
external factors, such as the money potential or the family
business or prestige. If your numbers do not fit you for that
choice you will not have the energy to successfully fulfill the
requirements to make a success of that business. You have
probably heard or read that you should do what you love and the
money will follow. That position may or may not be true. But I
do feel that I am on firm ground to say that when your work is
supported by the numbers of your chart success will come more
easily. If you are constantly battling against the natural flow
of your life you dissipate your energies unproductively.

Circumstances may dictate that you take a job that is unsuitable
to your numbers. You may get stuck if you do not take conscious
control. Even while doing undesirable work you can begin
planning for the type of work that would be ideal for you. It
may require additional education. It may mean creating a nest
egg for the transition. It may require persuasion to gain the
cooperation of a spouse or other people who influence you or are
affected by your choices. But if you do not make plans you will
end up staying with this less than desirable choice for a
lifetime of regret.

I had a friend who took a job because of the pay and the
benefits, doing work that was very routine and unfulfilling. He
married and had several children to support. He often expressed
dissatisfaction with the work, but felt that he could not afford
to make a change. He became bound by his responsibilities. Over
the years an evident weariness came over him. He lost the spark
from his life. The routine became too strong to break. Now at
retirement age his life is limited. When the routine is ended,
will he have the energy to fulfill his life path? Or has he
fulfilled his path through this sacrifice? A full numerology
chart would provide the answer. The best time to gain this
insight is at the start of a career or when making a career
change, rather than after the fact.
