Hi. Hello. Good Morning. Top O' the Mornin' to you. A few of the responses that you sent in response to my request for alternatives to "How are You?"

Have we become a world of hypochondriacs? It seems as though every other ad in all forms of media refer to a health issue or supposed cure. An increasing amount of the gross national product is earmarked for health care. We are encouraged to become fearful of coming epidemics and pandemics. With this much emphasis upon disease, does it not seem by natural law that we are going to get a lot more illness?

How has this situation arisen? Follow the money. When a people can be persuaded that the only way to preserve good health is to medicate for the least discomfort, with someone else (governments, Insurance companies, pharmaceutical companies) paying the bill, consumption is going to increase.

There is probably no medication that doesn't have side effects. We are taught to fear the disease to such a degree that the side effects seem to become negligible.

It is my opinion, take it for what it is worth, that fear is our most widespread and most serious disease.

So "How are you doing?"

It certainly is a paradox that the ancient Greeks and Egyptian recognized that the Earth was a planet which, like the other celestial "wanderers," orbited the sun, which in turn was recognized as the physical center of the system -- while people living three thousand years later were completely ignorant of the fact.

Your Business Balance Wheel

Business numerology charts do not differ markedly from a chart on a person. The principles are the same. The meaning of the numbers remains constant. The primary distinction is in the name. Often a business will use a single word. The founding date may also be less precise.

This article discusses the balance number. The data has not yet been fully tested in the business arena, so the conclusions may be premature. Perhaps your business can help to validate the data.

The balance number tells us what approach to take to bring calm when there is chaos. It would seem that this information is valuable for managers trying to keep the workplace productive. This number is derived by converting the first letter of each name and adding until we arrive at a single digit.

When a business has only a single name, the balance number would be the same as the growth number. We have not done adequate research yet to determine the effect of this correlation.

First try out the balance number on your own name. As an example my first letters are DRH, or 4+9+8 = (21)3. What this means is that to bring calm to the chaos I need to keep a smile on my face, communicate clearly and boost the spirits of the workers.

From the business side, General Motors is GM, 7+4 = 11/2. GM needs to avoid confrontation and use tact and diplomacy to ease the situation. Ford is F = 6. Ford needs to take full responsibility and treat the workers like family.

Check out your own business using the following conversion table. Feel free to let me know your findings.

1 - The company must find creative solutions and insist that they be accepted.
2 - Tact and diplomacy without confrontation will bring about a negotiated settlement
3 - Communication and good spirits will break the logjam
4 - set everyone to work on specific tasks. separate out the troublemakers
5 - Take a new approach. Use persuasion to get everyone together
6 - The company must take responsibility for the problem. Paternalistic discipline and compassion will calm the petty storm.
7 - A full analysis from a different viewpoint will find an unexpected solution
8 - A strong management must see the whole picture and enforce the solution that is in the best interest of the company
9 - An idealistic viewpoint tied to compassionate co-operation will help everyone to gain a higher vision.
