Are you in sync with society?
Each person, each business, each marriage, each country is in a personal cycle,
which is determined by its founding date. Some of these cycles are harmonious
and some are conflicting. These cycles determine a lot of the interactions that
take place. To refresh your memory, the personal cycles are determined by adding
together the digits of your month of birth (or the month of the founding of a
business or country) + the day of birth + the universal year. Add the results
until you get a single digit.
Beyond the personal cycles is a universal cycle that affects every society that
follows the same calendar. Conflicts can arise from cultures that follow a
different calculation of time. Each culture is influenced by the energies of the
year of their calendar. The universal year is the total of the digits of the
current year added until a single digit is reached. 2003 is a 5 universal year
under our calendar.
With a May 30 birthday, I am in a 4 personal year. The universal year is a 5.
Adjacent cycles tend to be in conflict. Once the cycles are established they are
set for life. As a result, I will always be out of sync with the general trends
of world events. Those of you in a 6 personal year are in an adjacent cycle on
the other side of the universal year, and likewise would also be out of sync.
Cycles with 2 or more years difference will be in harmonious energy in some
years and less harmonious energy in other years.
In a prior article, which is in the archives, we discussed the relationship
between your personal cycle and the cycle of your business. In this article, I
wish to expand on this idea. You may find it to be an interesting exercise to
determine the cycles of your best customers. You will be most comfortable
dealing with those customers or businesses that are in compatible energies. Many
times you will not know the founding date or the birth date to make this
determination, but you may benefit by playing detective to find out. Your
business life goes more smoothly when you know your customers by the numbers.
The relationship between you or your business and the universal year is not as
strong as the personal numbers, but it does affect the general tone. In this 5
universal year, the emphasis is to try new activities. It can be a wild and
chaotic year with events happening suddenly. It is a year of unprecedented
opportunity, but with some risk. My 4 personal year emphasizes steady, hard
work, solid foundation building, established methods and frugality. I won't be
ready for the free-wheeling 5 energy until next year after society has settled
down again.
So I will plod through this exciting year with my nose to the grindstone, with
everyone thinking that I am a bore. Just wait until next year when I am in a
wild and chaotic 5 year. Society will have moved into a more settled 6 year, and
people will wonder what all my excitement is about.
Why is the universal year important if we each relate more strongly to our
personal years? In business you try to appeal to a wide spectrum of customers.
It is effective to tailor your marketing to the individual numbers of each
customer, but that approach is not always practical. You might not have enough
data. By tapping into the universal year energies, you can stay with the trends.
In my 4 year it is important that I reach out with a fresh approach and take
more risk than is comfortable in order to speak to a wider audience.
Everyone is affected by the universal energies to some degree. When you follow
the universal numbers your customers will feel a familiarity with your approach,
whether they are in harmony or in discord.
To gain a fuller understanding of the effect of the cycles take a look at the
world scene. The political analysis is the same process that you would use in
your personal or business life.
In 2003, the United states of America, with a July 4 birthday, is in a 7
personal year. The 7 and the 5 of the universal year are at opposite extremes.
You will find the voices for isolation and withdrawal growing strong throughout
this year. Close our borders, restrict trade, don't be the policeman of the
world, put America first. This call for isolation occurs when the opportunities
for expansion and new growth are evident throughout the world. This attitude of
withdrawal is for the purpose of thinking through what our role should be, and
to regain our faith in the core values upon which this country was founded. By
October the United States will be ready to step upon the world stage with a
renewed respect for its leadership. We are out of sync with the world community.
Much can be done through the numbers in analyzing world events. Let me know if
