Musings:

There seems to be an air of expectation in the world today. In spite of the constant bombardment of negative news, I see a lot of people looking beyond the current strife and holding on to a vision of what could be.

Wallace Wattles, over one hundred years ago, taught that if we look around and see nothing but poverty around us we have a choice to develop poverty thinking or to hold on to a vision af abundance and create out vision. When we see a war torn world, filled with hatred, we can allow our thinking to accept that condition as normal and inevitable. When we maintain those thoughts we add energy to the status quo and perpetuate the conflict. On the other hand, if we refuse to be affected by the images of conflict and hold to the ideal in our thoughts, the dreamed of circumstances must come about.

A popular bumper sticker of a few years back said, "What if they gave a war and nobody came?" Obviously, there are situations that require fighting for what is right. War will remain a condition of the human experience until a critical mass is reached in the thinking of mankind. This critical mass is developed one person at a time. Where are your thoughts? Meanwhile, we fight, but hold within us the seed of peace.

A Bit of Philosophy

...there are no magic codes of vowels and consonants that open doorways into forgotten realms. The secret of prayer lies beyond the words of praise, the incantations, and the rhythmic chants to the "powers that be." Through texts such as the Dead Sea Scrolls, we are invited to live the intent of our prayer in our lives. for if the words are "spoken only with the mouth, they are as a dead hive...which gives no more honey."

from The Isaiah Effect: Decoding the lost science of prayer and prophecy. Gregg Braden. New York: Three Rivers Press, 2000.

Sunbathing at Midnight

There is an ebb and flow to life. To follow an intense path in a continuously driving manner would cause burnout very quickly. We need those times of regrouping and relaxation to think through our efforts. Too much work without evaluation can lead to dead ends and wasted effort.

We see this pulsating activity in nature itself. The tide comes in and it goes out again. Both directions are vital to maintaining a healthy stasis. The seasons allow for a time of planting and growth and then a harvest, followed by a dormant period for the land to recharge.

You would not think of planting a vegetable garden in the autumn, nor would you expect the fruit from the orchard in the spring. Each aspect has its season. Yet in the conduct of our lives we are not so careful of the timing. Some ambitious workers may feel quilty if they are not constantly pushing for greater gains. Some less driven people may be reluctant to make the effort to enhance their lives. Neither of these positions is optimal. The hard worker may be trying to plant the garden in winter. His effort is wasted. The couch potato may fail to harvest when the crop is ripe. His efforts in planting are wasted.

Numerology can disclose the seasons of your life. By following the numbers you will know when to patiently wait and when to push with all your might. You can accomplish a result out of season through sheer dint of effort, but how much easier our path when the timing is right.

Numerology does not cause the cycles any more than the calendar causes the seasons or the clock causes the progress of the day. Numerology, the calendar and the clock are merely instruments to decipher what is already established in nature. You can choose to know the time and the seasons or you can fight against the natural progression. You have full choice, but don't expect to get much of a tan if your sunbathing is at midnight.
